What is the #TakeAStep campaign and when is it happening?

Northern Rivers’ #TakeAStep campaign is an initative to bring awareness to #mentalHEALTH while raising funds for our new Behavioral Health Care Center, and the campaign will run throughout the month of May, Mental Health Awareness Month.

Is there any cost to register for the #TakeAStep campaign? 

No! Participation kits are provided free of charge. Simply register to get your kit today!

What does the participation  kit include? 
Your kit includes: 

  • Recruitment posters
  • Shoelaces
  • Awareness posters
  • Donation collection form
  • Remittance envelope

When my collection is over, where do I send our donations? 
Your #TakeAStep campaign coordinator will receive a self-addressed envelope with your kit. If you do not have this envelope, please mail your donation to:

Be sure to include your completed donation collection form with your donations. If you do not have a donation collection form, download one here.

Please send in your donation as soon as possible after hosting your #TakeAStep campaign. We ask to receive all donations by Friday, June 7, 2019

Do individuals have to donate $5 to participate?

No. The $5 donation per pair of shoelaces is a suggestion. Donations of any amount are appreciated.

To whom should personal and/or organization checks be made payable?

Please make checks payable to Northern Rivers Family of Services .

My organization has matched our employees’ donations. How do we process their contributions?

When you send in your donations, please indicate the matching contribution amount from your employer on the donation form.

What if my shoes don’t have eyelets? How can we participate?

No eyelets – no problem! Here are some creative ways to repurpose your shoelaces and show your support. 

How will our donations be used?
