Colleen Vogel, Director of Recruitment and Retention
Colleen Vogel is the Director of Recruitment and Retention, Foster Care, covering all 19 counties in the Give Hope a Home foster care area. She joined the organization in 2009, serving as a clinician in community-based programs and a foster care coordinator before being named to her current position in 2016. Before coming to Northern Rivers, she served in a number of clinical and case management positions for the St. Anne Institute in Albany. She earned her B.S. in Psychology from SUNY Cortland and her MSW from the University at Albany.
Diane Baird, Homefinder, Albany
Diane Baird is a Homefinder from our Albany office. She certifies and maintains foster homes in Albany and Rensselaer counties. She joined the organization in 2008 as a Foster Care program assistant, and assumed her current position in 2016. She spent nearly 30 years with the NYS Division of Military and Naval Affairs. She earned her AAS degree from Hudson Valley Community College. Diane is a notary public; a certified trainer for First Aide/CPR, and Group Preparation and Selection II/Model Approach to Partnerships in Parenting (GPSII/MAPP).
Tiffany Ferrell, Homefinder, Endwell
Tiffany Ferrell is a Homefinder from our Endwell office. She certifies and maintains foster homes in Broome, Chenango, Delaware, and Tioga counties. She joined the organization in 2017. Previously she worked as a preschool teacher at the Endicott First Presbyterian Nursery School in Endicott. She earned her B.A. in human development and her M.A. in social science from Binghamton University. Tiffany is a certified trainer for First Aid/CPR, Model Approach to Partnerships in Parenting/Group Preparation and Selection (MAPP/GPS), Deciding Together, and Child Sexual Abuse.
Marisa Morrell, Homefinder, Johnstown
Marisa Morrell is a Homefinder from our Johnstown office. She certifies and maintains foster homes in Fulton, Hamilton, Montgomery, and Schoharie counties. She joined the organization in 2012 as a therapeutic support worker, and came to the Foster Care program in 2017. She has also worked for the NYS Office of Children and Family Services. She earned her B.S. in community and human services from Empire State College.
Lori Nadeau, Homefinder, Queensbury
Lori Nadeau is a Homefinder from our Queensbury office. Lori joined the organization in 2010 and certifies and maintains foster families from Essex, Saratoga, Warren, and Washington counties. In addition to her work in foster care, Lori has also worked with at risk youth, with the aging population, with children in rural Jamaica, and as trainer for those who also work in human services. Lori is a graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh with a B.S. in social work. In 2015 Lori received Northern Rivers’ Empowerment through Leadership Award, and in 2013 she received the Community Ambassador Award. Lori is a certified trainer for First Aid/CPR, Model Approach to Partnerships in Parenting/Group Preparation and Selection (MAPP/GPS), Deciding Together, Child Sexual Abuse, and Caring for Our Own.
Amy Spoto, Homefinder, Hudson
Amy Spoto is a Homefinder from our Hudson office. She certifies and maintains foster homes in Columbia and Greene counties. She joined the organization in 2017 after spending six years with the Columbia County Department of Social Services. She earned her B.S. in community and human services from Empire State College.
Stefanie Thompson, Homefinder, Oneonta
Stefanie Thompson is a Homefinder from our Oneonta office. She certifies and maintains foster homes in Herkimer, Madison, Montgomery and Otsego counties. She joined the organization in 2010 as a teacher in our Early Childhood program, and joined the foster care program in 2016. She earned her B.S. in early childhood education from the College of Saint Rose
Hope the Foster Care Bear, Spokesbear
Hope the Foster Care Bear is a spokesbear covering all 21 counties in the Give Hope a Home foster care area (Albany, Broome, Chenango, Columbia, Delaware, Dutchess, Essex, Fulton, Greene, Hamilton, Herkimer, Madison, Montgomery, Oneida, Otsego, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Tioga, Warren, and Washington counties). Born in the greater Capital Region, New York, Hope was forced to leave home at a young age due to environmental factors and joined the Northern Rivers family in 2017. Hope is a passionate advocate for children in foster care and travels throughout the are to help find loving foster homes. Currently Hope is pursuing an MBA (Master of Bear Advocacy) and hopes to one day serve as a national figure in the foster care movement.
